What are good books?
Good kids books offer the True, the Good, and the Beautiful to our children. They contain something true about life and the world, they instill virtues, and they portray the beauty of creation and redemption. In terms of values, good books assume things like the glory of creation and the sanctity of human life, the necessity of courage and resilience, the dignity of humility and modesty, the harsh realities of human sinfulness and a fallen world, and the acceptance of hierarchy and parental authority.
Good kids books don't push adult agendas onto children. They depict the beauty of diversity without dividing. And they don't try to explain why dragons are bad. They just are.
